Understanding the service

What is this service?

Yang-Shi Rite is a comprehensive Taoist ceremony prepared for a living person or household around one major personal or family intention.

Conducted individually in Shandong, China, the observance may bring together multiple traditional ceremonial elements within one extended rite. Private photographic and video documentation is delivered after completion.

Traditional context

Within Chinese Taoist ceremonial tradition, Yang-Shi refers to rites conducted for the living.

Yang-Shi Rite is an extended, individually prepared ceremony for one person or household, centred on a significant personal or family intention. Depending on the dedication, the observance may bring together elements associated with prayer, thanksgiving, peace, longevity, ritual light or traditional star-related practice.

Unlike the focused Blessing Rite, Yang-Shi Rite provides a broader ceremonial framework for a significant or interconnected life situation.

Choose Yang-Shi Rite for a complete, extended Taoist ceremony concerning a significant or interconnected personal or family intention.

Choose Blessing Rite for one focused intention. Choose Taoist Blessing Lamp Offering when dedicating a lamp is the main service.
